About Japanese Language Courses at Sendagaya Japanese Institute

Since S.J.I was established in 1975. More than 18,000 students from more than 100 countries have learned Japanese through our Japanese language courses. Their occupations vary from students to teachers, office workers, diplomats, researchers and housewives.

Point 1 : A Variety of Courses

A variety of courses, such as Every Day Course, Twice a Week Evening Course, Private Course, On Location Instruction and Summer Course, are offered to meet individual needs as well as language levels.

Point 2 : Interactions with Native Japanese Trainees

As SJI doubles as a Japanese teacher-training center, you will have an opportunity to talk with Japanese trainees or to hear them speaking each other at natives’level. A joint activity of social gathering with Japanese trainees is included with both Every Day Course and Summer Course, and that will allow you to try out your Japanese.

Point 3 : Qualified Teachers with the Common Teaching Method

All of our Japanese teachers have graduated from SJI’s teachers training course. The Japanese lessons are provided by the fully trained and qualified teachers with the common teaching method and thus are kept at the same level in their quality.

Point 4 : Original Textbooks for Systematic Learning

SJI’s original textbooks, the "Communication Nihongo" series, which are mainly used in regular group lessons, are designed for beginners to learn Japanese language systematically by learning words, grammar and sentence patterns step by step. Other than main textbook, you will be using workbook, writing drill book, and CD to improve over-all Japanese language skills.
